'drowning in the tides' is an electro-acoustic work for amplified voice, bass clarinet/contra bass clarinet, and prepared piano. Inspired by the work 'Howl' by Allen Ginsberg,
this sound work encapsulates a perspective on time that stood still. A metaphor for a society of the world that froze within a repetitive cycle of oppression, self-medication, pain, sufferring, and death.
After the first reading of this work of Ginsberg, it is apparent that 'modern' times are not much different. to be performed with or without electronics
